Cates Park is the largest waterfront park in North Vancouver. This seaside park has a variety of amenities, including 6 km of waterfront trails, playgrounds, picnic shelters, beaches, tennis courts, and a year-round boat launch. There is also a nice, sandy swimming beach (no lifeguards on duty).

At the far end of Cates Park there is a trail that connects to Little Cates Park, which also has a large grassy area, playground, and washrooms.
