The River of Golden Dreams by Canoe
Taking a canoe down the River of Golden Dreams is a summertime classic. Our guides will teach you basic paddling skills and techniques as you begin your adventure paddling across the historic Alta Lake. Following families of ducks and geese into the lush river mouth you’ll paddle through flowing lilies and around bends of overhanging greenery as you learn about Whistler’s history, flora and fauna. Water levels are always changing and this tour is always an adventure, be it fast moving water in the spring or obstacles like beaver dams and portages in late summer.
Callaghan Lake Backcountry Canoe
Exploring a backcountry lake by canoe is a true Canadian adventure. From Whistler Village your guide will take you on a journey of discovery up the Callaghan Valley Road and the Callaghan Forest Service Road in one of our off-road vehicles. Once you arrive at Callaghan Lake your guides will teach you basic paddling skills and techniques, as you appreciate the lake for the gorgeous, uncrowded hidden gem that it is. The scenery here is just incredible. Huge snowy mountains, sparkly pristine glacier water, and an old growth forest. The rugged shoreline is just as gorgeous lined with thickly forested steep hills and cliffs. Snack included.
