Alta Bistro

Just steps from the heart of the Whistler Village, Alta Bistro has quickly gained high praise from many locals, visitors and international food writers alike who come to Whistler searching for what is truly local, fresh, and different. The warm hospitality is complimented with the ambiance and natural energy of the room. Built mostly from ancient British Columbian ponderosa pine ‘beetle’ wood, Alta’s long cocktail and dining bar welcomes you to your culinary adventure with a selection of house-made, award-winning cocktails.

Opened in 2010, Alta Bistro expanded the concept of ‘farm to table’ into its operations. The freshest catches, naturally raised B.C. meats and game, combined with local vegetables inspire Chef and Co Owner Nick Cassettari to showcase the ‘peak of flavour’ of each season. His approachable modern French bistro menu is focused, but will enchant and surprise even the most experienced diner with its complexity, layers of flavour and texture balance.

The award winning wine list compliments Nick’s food perfectly. Experienced staff, led by long-time local, Wine Director and Co-Owner, Eric Griffith, will guide you to find the perfect wine pairing. And if you missed the Alta bar on arrival, make sure to try one of our signature ‘after dinner’ cocktails while deciding on your next turn.
