Backcountry Brewing opened its brewery, tasting room and kitchen on April 1st 2017, with sights set on building a production brewery that also focused on a unique tasting room experience. The room has been designed to feel like a backcountry ski cabin in the late 60’s, complete with shingled cabin, tabletops made of local trail maps and a large 20 seat communal table where the locals and visitors mingle.

While maintaining a constantly rotating variety of beer styles in the tap room, Brewer John Folinsbee’s mainstays are hop-forward beers, including east coast-style IPA’s, Pale Ales and a German Pilsner.

The Backcountry kitchen features the work of Red Seal Chef, Michael Staveley. The evolving menu of bold pizzas, fresh salads, sausage, soups and snacks was developed to compliment John’s brews, often using the beer in the recipes.
