Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park

Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park’s 9,755 hectares (24,105 acres) protects habitat such as old-growth forests, sub-alpine and alpine environments as well as lakes for a diverse group of wildlife, including spotted owls, mountain goats as well as black and grizzly bears.

Camping

Tucked into the mountains northwest of Pemberton, this 91-site park features a stunning alpine lake, perfect for canoeing, fishing, and swimming. A must for campers looking for a true wilderness escape. Access to Birkenhead Lake is via a backcountry dirt road that can be rough on low-riding vehicles. There is no cell service at this location.

Season: May–October

Facilities: Pit toilets, water. Sani-dump. Dirt backroad access.
