Capilano Regional Park

Lush coastal rainforest and steep canyon walls make this an unforgettable regional park. As you walk beneath towering Douglas-fir and western red-cedar trees, listening to the roar of the Capilano River, it’s easy to forget that you’re in Canada’s third largest urban area.

There are a number of trails in Capilano River Regional Park, including:

  • Capilano Pacific Trail runs from near Cleveland Dam to Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. On the way, you'll pass through lush west coast forest with views of Capilano River. The trip is 7.5 km one way. Heading south to north involves a 235 m elevation gain.

  • Coho Loop Trail is a scenic 1 km loop that starts near the Capilano Hatchery and crosses two bridges -- Cable Pool and Pipeline. Scenic views of the river and steep-sided canyon as well as towering Douglas fir trees are the reward.
